DAY 01 NEW DELHI
Arrive Delhi in the midnight, assistance on arrival with garland welcome and transfer to hotel immediately occupancy. Over night Hotel.
Perhaps there is no other capital city in the world so steeped in history and legend as the Indian capital, Delhi. It was the magnet that drew the Mongols, Turks, persians, Afghans, Mughals and finally the British. All of whom Contributed to its glorious but turbulent history.
DAY 02 Delhi sightseeing.
Morning after breakfast explore to Old Delhi, visit to Red Fort—Anthoer marvel of architecture is the Red Fort or Lal Quila. It is laid out along the river Yamuna as an irregular octagon, surround by a wall of around 2.4 kilometres and is built of red snadstone. The Mughal King Shah Jhan transferred his capital from Agra to Delhi and the fort was completed in 1648. Jama mosque, rikshaw ride through Chanadni chock, Gandhi samadhi & Birla temple. Lunch in a local restaurant.
Later return back to hotel for overnight.
Day 03 Delhi sightseeing.
Morning after breakfast explore to New Delhi, visit to Qutub Minar--The Minar built to proclaim the victory of Islam. The tower has five distinct storeys, each marked by a projecting balcony, Humayun’s Tomb—is a memorial by a grieving wife, it was built by his widow Haji Begum in 1565—66, nine years after his death, she have spent one and a half million rupees on the building, also explore Lotus temple, India Gate, Parliament House and Rashtrapati Bhawan. Over night Hotel.
Day 04 DELHI-JAIPUR, DRIVE.
Morning after breakfast drive about 260 kms/06 hrs to Jaipur, the Pink City and capital of Rajasthan. Laid out by the Maharaja Jai Singh in the early 18th century as a walled city built according to ancient symbolic plans, Jaipur still displays a remarkable harmony and architectural splendour. Its heart is the City Palace of the Jaipur Maharajahs, surrounded by broad tree-lined avenues that divide the city into traditional quarters assigned to various occupations.
Arrive Jaipur and transfer to hotel. Evening free to visit the local market. Over night Hotel.
DAY 05 JAIPUR
This morning after breakfast we visit City Palace, which still inhabited by Jai Singh’s descendants is a fine fusion of Rajput
and Mughal architecture, and the adjacent Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory built according to Vedic principles
and still in use. Also visit the ancient Rajput capital of Amber, to see the 16th century hilltop fortress-palace and its richly
decorated apartments. Amber was begun by Raja Man Singh and used by the Rajputs as their stronghold until Jai Singh
moved to the newly created Jaipur. Afternoon free for shopping and relaxation. Over night Hotel.
DAY 06 JAIPUR TO AGRA, DRIVE.
Morning after breakfast drive about 260 / 06hrs to the city of Taj - Agra, Enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri-The ghost city. Between 1570 and 1586, during Akbar's rule, Fatehpur Sikri was the capital of Mughal Empire. 40 km west of Agra, it's a perfectly preserved example of a Mughal city at the height of the Empire's splendour. Arrive and transfer to hotel, Evening free. Over night Hotel.
DAY 07 AGRA, SIGHTSEEING.
Early morning sunride visit to Taj Mahal (a love story in marble), set within the paradise gardens. The whole of Taj complex measures 580 by 300 m and the garden 300 by 300 m. The guiding principle is one of symmetry. The four minarets (41.6 m high) at each corner of the plinth provide balance to the tomb. Return hotel for breakfast, after breakfast visit to Agra Fort, On the west end of the Yamuna River, Akbar’s magnificent fort dominates the centre of the city. The outer walls, just over 20 m high and faced with red sandstone, tower above the outer moat. The fort is crescent-shaped with a long nearly straight wall facing the river. Over night Hotel.
Day 08 AGRA TO GWALIOR, DRIVE.
Morning after breakfast drive to Gwalior about 120 kms/03-04 hrs, arrive and transfer to hotel.
Afternoon visit Gwalior fort, buit between 1000-1700. Man Mandir Palace : Built between 1486 and 1517 by Raja Man Singh, is the most impressive building in the fort. Alos visit Gujri Mahal archaeological museum. Over night Hotel.
Gwalior was an important princely state during the pre-independence era. There are many palaces to see here. Today, Gwalior is a modern Indian city, vibrant andbustling.
DAY 09 GWALIOR TO KHAJURAHO, DRIVE.
Morning after breakfast drive to Khajuraho about 280 kms/07 hrs. Arrive and transfer to hotel, evening free. Over night Hotel.
Khajuraho, home to what are now perhaps the most famous of india’s temples on account of their remarkable erotic sculptures, lies in a rich, well watered plain..
The temple of Khajuraho are india’s unique gift to the world, representing, as they do, a paean to life, to love, to joy ; perfect in execution and sublime in expression.
Khajuraho temples were built in a hundred years, from 950 to 1050 AD. Only 22 of the 85 original temples, have survived the ravages of time. Each temple stands on a high platform. There are three main parts in each temple, the entrance(ardhamandapa), assembly hall(mandapa)and sanctum(garbha griha). The temples were constructed during the reign of the Chandela Rajputs.
